Creative writing skills are essential in facing the era of information and digital media-based creative industries. Students need to be equipped with these skills to support courses in creative writing, journalism, and editing. Indonesian Literature Program Study organized a creative writing training event with a focus on language-based creative industries. This event featured a national writer and creative industry practitioner, Afifah Afra, also known as Yeni Mulati, M.M.

The training took place over five days, starting on February 28, March 2, March 6, March 7, and March 9, 2023. Twenty-five students participated in this event. They received materials on the world of writing, the writing industry, and writing practices guided directly by Yeni Mulati M.M. The Head of the Indonesian Literature Program Study, Dr. Dwi Susanto, stated that this writing practice aims to prepare students for opportunities in the language-based creative industry. After graduation, students can possess writing skills to enhance their employability. Additionally, students can undergo competency certification exams at the Professional Certificate Institution Universitas Sebelas Maret.

According to participants, this activity is very beneficial and able to helped them develop creativity in writing. They hoped that similar training activities can be continued regularly, possibly extending to other areas such as short film or documentary training. The participants felt that their confidence can grows when equipped with additional skills, especially in the context of future job hunting.
